WHY i'm the right CANDIDATE FOR THE TRAVEL PORTLAND CONTENT PRODUCER JOB

To the hiring team at Travel Portland,

I built this web page to detail my interest in the Content Producer position at Travel Portland. Nine years ago I transplanted to Portland, I have never felt a place that I truly found home until I made the move. This city and state is one I take ultimate pride in. I'm passionate about the future of this community and how it functions. Tourism is a big driver of the growth of the city and how we are perceived to people choosing travel destinations. There is nothing I like more than playing tour guide when friends and family come to town. The options are endless in what this city offers. I will bring a passion to this position and my background in video production will fill the expectations for the job.

This last year I have been working for The Oregonian Media Group, filling the role of Producer and Account Executive. This has given me the opportunity to manage more than 75 client accounts and be responsible for bringing in new business. Within these projects was the development of multi-level marketing campaigns. Whether it was video content distribution, programmatic marketing, media buys, web development campaigns, SEO/SEM strategy, or overall branding, I had my hands on it. Working with numbers has been my forte, with both developing budgets and proposals for advertisers as well as working within the ad network exchange to place ad campaigns competitively.

The previous four years I founded and ran a small creative company that was responsible for the cultivation of digital media assets for small and enterprise organizations. This had me filling diverse roles such as producing/shooting/editing video assets, utilizing many social media platforms for distribution and brand development, compiling adventure photography, and working in a creative leadership role to facilitate relevant organic content.

 

To date my professional career has allowed me to develop expertise in multiple adobe suite graphic design programs which has paired well with my photography work layouts. My editing skills and post-production workfows are on point as well as I have been the key person for many robust video production projects. One of my noted accomplishments in this realm was when I produced, shot, and edited over 150 education videos with Bellissimo Coffee Advisors with a team of video professionals.

In my free time I volunteer with the non-profit organization; The Surfrider Foundation. This allows me an outlet to give back to the community. I was a part of the campaign "Ban the Bag" that banned plastic bags in the Portland Metro. Currently I am working with the team to implement cigarette canisters around town tow keep butts off the ground as well as a campaign to get restaurants in Portland to implement "ocean friendly"policies.
